Got up at sunrise made coffee and I packed up all the black boxes and loaded it all up and then went to pick up our hopefully negative COVID-19 tests.
Fuelled up at Engen and pumped up my tyres as it's all asphalt to Vic Falls. Checked out of Botswana, real quick as there is no one around and then took a little longer into Zimbabwe with the vehicle paperwork etc but with no lines I was in and out.
Was about an hours drive and we got to N1 campsite in the heart of VF where we had the campsite to ourselves at $10pppn. It has a huge pool with a large covered area with two TV's and the cleanest ablutions i have ever seen , with large showers and plenty of hot water. Each site has a power outlet, light and a braii and it is all manicured grass which you park on. We stayed three nights and then checked into The Victoria Falls Hotel for two nights.
While we still had time on our covid tests we walked over into Zambia to the Royal Livingston Hotel and had breakfast there which was over the top, the place is on the Zambezi and is just in an absolute gorgeous setting and the waitress was so attentive and all the staff very courteous.
We then walked along the rim of the falls and just got thoroughly soaked as the falls are pumping like you can't believe but it was most welcome as it is very hot here. We crossed back over the border back into Zim before our tests expired at 3pm.
The next day we did the Zim side of the falls which is a lot longer but also got soaked.
Nice to be in a hotel for a couple of days and have some good meals, but ever so hard to find a real cold beer.
